Building Your Character[edit]

This guide explains how to gear up and build your character in Ragnamex, covering equipment prefixes, grades, gems, enchantments, crafting, item tiers, refinement, and tips for new players.

1. Equipment Prefixes[edit]

Every piece of equipment has a prefix that indicates its origin and the grades available for it.

Slayer World Monsters D, C, B, A

Luxuriant Cash Shop A
Chamber Dungeon Treasure Chest C, B, A

2. Grades[edit]

Grades determine how powerful an item's stats and bonuses are. Items with no grade have no stats or special effects.

Grade Description
None No grade. Item has no stats or bonuses.
D Lowest grade. Minimal stats and bonuses.
C Low-mid grade. Moderate stats and bonuses.
B Mid-high grade. Good stats and bonuses.
A Highest grade. Maximum stats and bonuses available for the prefix.

3. Gems & Enchantments[edit]

3.1 Gems[edit]

  • Gems improve the secondary stats of equipment.
  • Gems are obtained through the Jewelry profession.

3.2 Enchantments[edit]

  • Enchantments add additional effects to items — from basic stats to unique properties such as area attacks, life steal, movement speed, ASPD, and more.
  • Enchantments are created by the Enchanting profession.
  • To craft enchantments, you must destroy equipment to obtain Dusts. The quality of the Dust depends on the grade of the destroyed item.

4. Equipment Types & Crafting[edit]

Different equipment types are usable by different classes and are crafted by different professions.

4.1 Weapons[edit]

Almost all weapons are crafted by the Blacksmith, with the following exceptions:

  • Books → crafted by the Inscription profession.
  • Staves → crafted by the Enchanting profession.

4.2 Armor & Accessories[edit]

Equipment Type Usable By Crafting Profession
Cloth Armor All classes Tailoring
Leather Armor All classes except Wizard and Priest Leatherworking
Plate / Metal Armor Crusader and Knight class only Blacksmithing
Garments All classes Tailoring
Rings & Necklaces All classes Jewelry
Middle Gears All classes Engineering
Shields Crusader and Knight class only Blacksmithing
Magic Orbs Magic classes only. Increases magic damage. Enchanting
Grimoires Magic classes only. Reduces cast time. Inscription

5. Item Level & Tier[edit]

5.1 Item Level (iLv)[edit]

Items have an internal Item Level (iLv) that determines how strong they are, based on the monsters or zone they came from. For crafted or NPC-purchased items, the iLv is tied to the item's minimum equip level.

5.2 Tier[edit]

Items have a Tier — the higher the tier, the higher the base stats. Tier is determined by the level of the source monster, zone, or content.

Tier Monster Level Range
Tier I Mob Lv < 15
Tier II Mob Lv 15 – 26
Tier III Mob Lv 27 – 38
Tier IV Mob Lv 39 – 50
Tier V Mob Lv 51 – 62
Tier VI Mob Lv 63 – 72
Tier VII Mob Lv 73 – 82
Tier VIII Mob Lv 83 – 92
Tier IX Mob Lv 93 – 102
Tier X Mob Lv 103 – 112

6. Refinement[edit]

  • All equipment can be refined using Refinement Tickets.
  • Refined equipment does not break.
  • The more Refinement Tickets you collect, the faster you can upgrade your gear.

7. Tips for New Players[edit]

  • Get geared quickly by completing leveling quests — they provide solid starter equipment.
  • Run Dungeons whenever possible to obtain Champion-prefix gear.
  • Use Professions to equip yourself without relying entirely on drops.
  • Legendary gear can be crafted, but requires significant time investment in farming and Zeny.
  • Sell equipment you do not need at the Auction House to earn Zeny.
  • Destroy gear you no longer use with the Enchanting profession — the resulting Dusts can be used or sold to other players.
